The General’s Cupboard

Located in RMCC 117A, The General’s Cupboard stocks a variety of FREE canned and packaged food and other non-perishable items, as well as personal care items. The General's Cupboard is open to all Herkimer College students.. A valid student ID is required.

Open Hours:

Mondays: 2:00 – 4:30 pm
Tuesdays: Noon - 2:00 pm
Thursdays: 9:00 – 11:30 am
Fridays: 2:00 – 4:30 pm

Individual appointments are also available. To make an individual appointment, visit the Academic Support Center or call (315) 574-4000.

The General's Cupboard welcomes donations to help keep the shelves stocked. Donations can be left in collection boxes located in the Public Relations Office (RMCC 255), Center for Student Leadership & Involvement (RMCC 220), Athletics Office (PE 104), Academic Support Center (LB 104) and Dean of Students Office (CA 264). Below is a list of most needed items.

  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Canned Fruits & Vegetables
  • Canned meats (tuna, chicken)
  • Cereal & breakfast bars
  • Healthy snacks (granola bars, nuts)
  • Toilet paper

Monetary donations are accepted in the Foundation Office (CA 225), by mail or phone call. Checks should be made payable to the HCC Foundation, noting The General's Cupboard in the memo line, and can be mailed to: HCC Foundation, Herkimer College, 100 Reservoir Rd, Herkimer, NY 13350. Credit card payments can be made by calling (315) 574-4015.
