Dr. Robert Dorrance

For his commitment and contributions to the early development of HCCC.

Dr. Dorrance was among the College’s founding faculty members and served as Chair of the Mathematics and Science Division. He developed many of the first degree programs offered by HCCC. In addition to being known for his excellence in teaching and coaching, Dr. Dorrance was also a proponent of outdoor education. He designed and built the College’s nature trail and cross-country ski trails, developed and directed a summer youth conservation program, and established the College’s natural history museum. Dr. Dorrance’s contributions set an early standard of quality for HCCC’s programming and campus setting.
