For always being at the forefront as the First Lady of the College to encourage support for Herkimer College.
Mrs. McLaughlin utilized her strong social skills to benefit the College politically and financially. Mrs. McLaughlin represented the interests of the College in many community organizations and served for over twenty years on the Herkimer College Foundation Board. She founded and personally directed the annual Herkimer County Arts and Craft Fair throughout most of its more than thirty-year history, raising an estimated million dollars to benefit the Foundation and, therefore, the College. In 1986 she established the Grace McLaughlin Scholarship Fund. “Her advice and counsel truly helped the Foundation become a stronger supporter of the College.”
