Alcohol Policy

POLICY STATEMENT:  It is the policy of the Board of Trustees that no alcohol use is allowed on campus except for events approved by the President.  The serving of alcoholic beverages will be controlled according to the following guidelines:

  • All groups wishing to include the service of alcoholic beverages at on-campus functions must obtain the prior written permission of the President of the College.
  • Any event on campus must have a “Special Events Permit” issued by the NY State Liquor Authority.  Responsibility for applying for the permit from the Liquor Authority for the “Temporary Beer and Wine Permit” is in the hands of the agency sponsoring the event.
  • Responsibility for the wine and beer inventory purchase, control and serving of alcoholic beverages is the sole responsibility of the outside agency sponsoring the event, and inventory will not be held on campus.
  • The dispensing and consumption of alcoholic beverages at on-campus functions will be governed pursuant to New York State law.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BACKGROUND:  This policy gives all responsibility associated with the service of alcoholic beverages to the food service contractor.  The President has the authority to grant or deny requests for alcoholic beverages at on-campus functions and assures lawful handling of the dispensing of alcoholic beverages.
